Parks Victoria have reminded everyone that the safety of visitors, communities and our staff are Parks Victoria’s priority. The Bureau of Meteorology have predicted a warmer than average summer season, rainfall is likely to be below average which may cause some challenging weather events across Victoria. Parks Victoria encourage you to plan before visiting and to use the below resources to help keep you and your customers safe this summer season: 


Stay up to Date: Download the VicEmergency App to access community information and warning for all types of emergencies. Set up a user profile and watch zones to ensure you receive official warnings and information for areas that interest you. The GPS integration determines your current location** and surrounding incidents.
Check before you go: 
•        Parks Victoria’s website for change of conditions on specific park pages to ensure the park you are visiting or destination you are travelling to if open. 
•        The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for weather conditions and warnings. 
•        Road Closures using Vic Roads – Traffic website 
Know the new Fire Danger Ratings: 
  
•        Leave early – firs can start and spread quickly in some conditions and the safest thing to do is leave.  
•        Business Victoria – plan and prepare guide for businesses

Planned Burns 
Planned Burns are still taking place across the state. Licenced Tour Operators and park visitors are encouraged to visit the Planned Burns Victoria and register to receive automated SMS and email notifications about any upcoming FFMVic and CFA planned burns on public and private land. 
There is no charge to register or to receive messages. Use the attached Information Sheet to assist you in registering to receive planned burn notifications. 
STAY INFORMED STAY SAFE THIS SUMMER SEASON
Do not rely on notifications from Parks Victoria to provide details of planned burns, current conditions and fire affected parks. Bushfire safety is everyone’s responsibility.
