Four Wheel Drive Victoria have been informed that following wet weather, Forest Fire Management Victoria has closed section of Marginal Road in the Nariel Valley, between Dunstan’s Road and Thowgla Falls, to keep drivers safe and reduce the damage to the forest road.

If conditions allow, the track will reopen in time for the Melbourne Cup weekend.

If you’re planning a visit to Thowgla Falls, you must access Marginal Road via Walkers Road and we recommend during dry weather only in a four-wheel drive.

If you’re planning a trip to your favourite recreation reserve or camping spot, please remember to:

•    Drive to conditions. Recent rain has made roads slippery
•    Be prepared with maps by visiting: www.ffm.vic.gov.au/permits-and-regulations/closures-of-parks-and-forests
•    Obey all signs and road closures

Our FFMVic crews will continue to monitor road conditions and may close additional tracks if they become dangerous.

Forest Fire Managment Victoria would like to thank the community and road users for their understanding.
