Four Wheel Drive Victoria have been informed that Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) and contractors have commenced works on the Nariel Valley - Carmodys Track & Remote Radio Road strategic fuel break.
The break is 8.3km in length and will start from Benambra Corryong Road and end at Gibb Range Road.
Works will also commence on the Dartmouth – Enevers Track fuel break on Wednesday 24 January. This break is 15.9km in length and will start from Callaghan Creek Road and end at Mt Benambra Road.
For the safety of the community and workers, the above roads and tracks will be closed on weekdays in the immediate vicinity of the works. The roads will be open during weekends and public holidays.
While the roads were initially going to remain open during the night, we have had to close them to reduce the risk to forest and track users.
