The Alpine Shire Council has informed Four Wheel Drive Victoria that works on the Dargo High Plains Road are starting this week.
Works include tree clearing, grading, drainage and road surface works.

The road is open from the Gippsland side to the Alpine National Park boundary. It is recommended that a 4-wheel-drive is used to travel the road.
The remainder of the Dargo High Plains Road will be closed to access for all vehicles not involved in the remediation works. Please do not access the road until it has officially been opened.
For vehicles travelling on the Blue Rag Road to Dargo High Plains Road, there will be no access out through Dargo High Plains Road.
Road reopening is anticipated by late November/early December, weather dependent.
We will keep the community informed as an opening date is finalised, or stay up to date with VicTraffic: http://alerts.vicroads.vic.gov.au
